Nottinghamshire Law Society's 'Trainee Solicitor of the Year'

Michael Sadler won the coveted 'trainee solicitor of the year' award at the Nottinghamshire Law Society ceremony which took place on Friday (4 March). The award demonstrates the society's continued recognition of the quality of Browne Jacobson trainees.

Michael gave up his first career as a quantity surveyor to retrain as a solicitor and this award recognises Michael's achievements in his two years as a trainee at the firm. The judges noted that the commercial experience and project management skills he gained during his time as a quantity surveyor had put him in good stead for dealing with clients across the firm and that during such dealings Michael had demonstrated an excellent level of empathy when dealing with clients and their situations.

Commenting on his achievement, Michael Sadler said 'I am really pleased to have won this award, I have recently qualified as an assistant solicitor in the firm's construction and property risk team and am looking forward to applying the skills I learnt during my training contract'.

Managing partner, Brian Smith said 'I am thrilled that Michael's hard work and dedication to the firm has been recognised with this prestigious award. The success not only reflects the quality of our trainees but also our investment into their training and development'.

Browne Jacobson's trainees have a strong history of achievement; it is the second year running that Browne Jacobson has triumphed in the trainee solicitor of the year awards. In addition, they have also collected a number of awards for exam excellence.
