The corporate team at Browne Jacobson has advised the
shareholders of Nottinghamshire based Midland Aerospace Limited on
its acquisition by Calder Group Limited for an undisclosed sum.
Midland Aerospace Ltd manufactures and supplies parts to some of
the world’s biggest names in aerospace including Airbus, BAE
Systems and GKN. The firm is based in Sutton-in-Ashfield and
employs 85 staff.
Steve Butler, Chairman and majority shareholder, said:
“Browne Jacobson did a great job of advising us on the
purchase of this business out of Administration in February 2002 so
we had no hesitation in turning to them for this important
transaction. Their knowledge of our business and expertise in
corporate matters made them the natural choice.”
Adrian Presbury, Group Managing Director will relinquish his
executive role at Midland but Eamon Lyons (Managing Director) and
Sue McAra (Finance Director) will remain with the business.
The Browne Jacobson team was led by Corporate Partner Oliver
Pritchard, assisted by Gabor Taller.
Oliver Pritchard added:
“Having advised Steve in 2002 when he first acquired the
business from receivership, we are delighted to have assisted all
the shareholders to realise a very successful investment. Their
transformation of the business through some very challenging times
over the last six years has been quite remarkable, and leaves the
new owners with the perfect platform to take the business forward
in what is a highly competitive sector.”
